Pricing Guidelines

The base price assumes my usual standard for painting: more detailed than what I would consider a ‘tabletop level’, with a focus on details and contrasts and color choices that will read well from a distance. It also includes assembly and prep for painting.

Assembly and prep include but are not limited to: removal of flash and mold lines, fixing gaps, washing & priming, and using pins to reinforce joins on metal miniatures. I can do magnetization upon request.

Models are sealed with a couple coats of Testors Dullcote – it’s fairly matte and more importantly it’s an enamel paint so it’s incredibly durable. For an extra matte finish I can add a coat of AK Interactive Ultra Matte Varnish on top of the enamel upon request. It is an acrylic/water based paint so I can’t guarantee how well it holds up over time with lots of handling, but the enamel underneath should keep the paint itself intact.

Things that will typically add to the price: freehanded designs, non metallic metals, models that are particularly complex, models that require an unusual amount of labor in regards to assembly, non-basic basing, fast turn around time, etc.

Pricing is generally determined by the time it will take to complete a project. Size, complexity, and quality of a model is generally a good way to gauge this. I generally will charge less for simpler models, models that require little cleanup or assembly, or simpler paint schemes. If a model requires a lot of cleanup, lacks crisp detail or is very detailed then they are going to take much longer to paint. Orders of multiple models are generally priced at less per individual model vs. orders of one model at a time. Each project is unique so please feel free to fill out the form for a quote for a more exact number.

For a model that is under 40mm and not a HQ/character model my base price is $30. Beyond that it really just depends on the model and the level of finish requested. For a HQ/character model under 40mm the base price is generally $40. This includes HeroForge miniatures & Kingdom Death models. For a HQ/character model around 40mm the base price is generally $60. Beyond that size it’s difficult to set a base price because some larger models are still fairly simple in shape and assembly & some are very complex. For a display level model under 40mm the base price will be $80. Anything above 40mm I can’t really guess at a base rate for display level since the complexity and quality of miniatures at that size varies too much.

When I work up a quote I’ll usually offer a few different options of price & finish level but if you have a specific budget in mind please let me know!
